Moong dal and tomato

Okay, I am not a moong dal fan. But my friend KK makes such awesome moong with tomato that I had to include this. Thanks KK ;)


Ingredients :

1. Moong dal - 1 cup ( soak in water for 15 mins)

2. Tomatoes - 3 (diced)

3. Onion - 1 (diced)

4. Green chillies - 5 ( long slits)

5. Ginger garlic paste

6. Mustard seed

7. Jeera

8. Salt

9. Red chilli powder

10. Coriander / cilantro leaves

Method:

1. Take 1 spoon oil in a vessel and once it's hot, add jeers and mustard seeds .

2. Once they start to splutter add onions and green chillies.

3. Sauté the onions till they are light brown and add 1 spoon ginger garlic paste and mix well.

4. Allow the onion and ginger garlic to cook on medium flame for 3 mins

5. Now add the moong dal and tomatoes and mix well.

6. After cooking on medium flame for 2 mins add 2 cups of water.

7. To this add salt and red chilli powder according to taste.

8. Close the lid and allow to cook.

9. You can keep it dry by open cooking once the dal is cooked. Or

You can make it like proper dal. Add coriander leaves at the end.

10. Serve with roti or rice and your taste buds will say, thank you!
